Solar Panel Grants Scotland
Several government grants and funding schemes exist to reduce the cost of solar panels for Scottish homeowners.
The most significant funding option is the Home Energy Scotland Loan — an 0% interest Scottish Government loan of as much as £15,000, with cashback of up to £2,500 for qualifying installations.
Under the Smart Export Guarantee, all major energy suppliers must offer a tariff paying you for solar electricity you export back to the grid — giving you an extra revenue on top of reduced energy bills.
For qualifying households, the ECO4 scheme can cover some renewable energy measures, while a number of Scottish local authorities offer their own additional grant schemes.
